Plz check out the first post in this thread. A lot of info is shared there.

I know the Facebook post said that it would start shipping 2 weeks from the post…is that still the reality???

the reality is that we are still ironing out some issues that we don’t want to be fixing in a firmware update.
we are very close… we are working hard. please be patient.

Hi Brad and S2400 folks…. Anybody finding a super tight ribbon cable after passing underneath the DSP card …. The only way mine stretches to the user interface panel is if it’s basically shut and mounted to the bottom of the s2400 and it still a very tight stretch of the ribbon cable to the connectors :slightly_frowning_face::anguished: worried about the long term health of the s2400 with that tight stretch

If it is tight, don’t pass it under the power cables, go above so you have a little more flexibility :+1:

a quick heads-up for people installing the dsp card: on my s2400 (#378), the standoffs that come with the dsp card are about 1mm too short. they are 10mm, but the distance between the boards needs to be more like 11mm. if you tighten the screws at the ribbon cable side, the dsp board will bend down in a way that does not look too healthy. i thought about shimming them up with 1 or 2 m3 washers, but the ones i have are too large and get uncomfortably close to the board connectors, so i will not fully screw them in and secure them with a bit of threadlocker. maybe this is due to early s2400s having a pretty high plastic part on the cpu board?

Same for me. Didnt notice till i read your post!! Not concerned about the amount of bend though. Its pretty minimal.

Anyone getting a winning sound from the DSP card fan. Its intermittent but very noticeable. Comes on when i start the s2400, then dies down. Left it on overnight and this morning the whining wont stop.

Did you route the ribbon cable under the DSP card?
Maybe you have a cable too close to the fan.

Thanks Brad, I can’t ssem to identify the root cause.

It shouldn’t sound like that at all.

Loosen the screws and twist the whole fan assembly.
Or remove it and look the coloured cables underneath the fan itself.
It sounds like it’s catching on the cables.
It must have taken a big knock in transit, as I would have remounted the fan if it sounded like that when I put the factory firmware on it.
You could also try pulling on the coloured cables right where they enter the fan assembly, it might pull them out the way of the fan if that’s the case.

If you’re unable to do this, then we’ll have to get the card back for exchange.
In that case, please create a support ticket.

Thanks again Brad, appears the yellow wire was the culprit.
