.swu DSP file update

Maybe a silly question… but I’ve installed the DSP (and it is functioning perfectly and I love it) and have updated to the recent firmware. However, after watching the live stream for the DSP, I noticed Brad’s DSP card version is 3.0.35 while mine is 3.0.33. I didn’t notice anything I wasn’t capable of doing, but I did notice that there exists a .swu file.

My question is, do I just drag and drop the .swu file in the same fashion as the .upd files? Or is there a different way to do it? Or do I not have to?

Thanks for everything guys, I love this device and especially this community.

You’re the man Brad.

It works exactly same as the firmware updates do.

As DEF says, its the same as a firmware update. Be warned though, it takes a lot longer to install. Around ten minutes.

update to .35 please, it fixes some essential issues

Where is this mythical .35 swu file? My card is 3.0.28 and seems pretty unstable.

Found it…forum search didn’t work, but a search engine found it in the next-to-latest firmware update post.

I know there’s a lot going on, but it would be really nice to have resources organized and documented somewhere.

It’s literally in the firmware update thread? Not sure how it could be any more explicit.

I literally just wrote a long reply to this detailing how you could be more explicit, but then I realized that you’re probably being cheeky. Hard to tell on the internet.

I’ll save my reply in the off chance that you would actually like feedback from a person who works on user experience for a living. Feel free to PM me or email if you would like me to send it.

I’m not being cheeky, we’ve had the firmware update thread since the launch of the S2400, and the .swu is in that thread. The same thread is also linked to in the support section of the website. Perhaps the file could be moved to the latest post (for the sake of clarity) but beyond that, I’m not sure what you’re driving at, here :man_shrugging:

im happy to give my feedback. installing swu file after receiving dsp card is covered in the dsp livestream video but i agree it should be explicitly detailed in the firmware update forum post too (i.e. “this swu file needs to be installed after installing dsp card”) just to make things clearer. Currently users either need to be familiar with the swu file (maybe from watching the livestream) or assume rather than be confident that this is for the dsp card if only reading the forum. You can also miss the swu update if you only read the most recent firmware update. anyone unsure, yes the swu file is for the dsp card after install.
