Let’s say you have a sample you plan to timestretch and add to your pattern. Your recording has a vocal transient that lines up to the downbeat of your pattern. We know the project BPM and we know we want the sample to loop at exactly 4 bars, but our recording has dead space at the end…
If our final trim is slightly longer or shorter than 4 bars, the sample ends up misaligned. Fine tuning this can take a long time to get right. It would be quite useful if the sample editing screen displayed time divisions based on the BPM and allowed the user to snap start/end cursors to time divisions. Similar to Ableton’s sampler:
With this setting, we could snap our start and end points to bar lengths and extract pieces of our recording with precision. This would make timestretching A LOT easier
