More polyphony - 16 would be perfect

It is without question, my number one request. It would make working with stereo samples less painful (two channels, ouch) and make drum layering so much easier.
Could any of the dev team pop in and give as honest an answer as they can about whether this is feasible/probable?

I second this request…please if this is possible add it immediately.

4 or 8 extra poly must be possible

guess it might take away for scope for other bells and whistles…but id take the extra voices all day long over fx etc

Yeah… 16voice like an MPC60… or even 32voice like an MPC3000.

It’s already my main-machine and I love it (replacing my mpc60 that I’ve had for +10 years)… but, just needs an added RD8 and/or RD9 to make up for its’ 8voices.

Interestingly enough… if I assign a stereo sample to channel one, which occupies 1/2, then assign a stereo sample to channel 2, which also occupies 1/2, they don’t cut each other off. Wouldn’t that be akin to hidden polyphony? Sure you’d need a second pass during tracking but still, works for me.

yes it seems odd using standard logic but this is how we have 8 stereo trk, otherwise they would have needed to label them 1-16 which surely would have caused people a headache

Yes it’s already more than 8 to have room for the metronome and the looper as well.

But the fact that you can’t have “regular samples”
overlap on the same track/output makes it like it has 8 polyphony.

For those who know JJ OS on MPC there is a basic polyphony meter for example. It helps to visualize if we’re close to the 32 limit or not. Nevertheless, there are more options. Like mono/poly per track and voice priority.

It might be time to create a new topic like more polyphony - 32 would pe perfect
