Help! USB host sync to Roland MC101

Hi all,

I’m trying to hook my mc101 up to my s2400 via the USB host port. All I would really like to do is send start/stop messages in order to synchronise playback for resampling.

Works fine with MIDI DIN, happy days, with USB host however absolutely nothing. I have tried every setting combination that I can think of and now it’s time to consult the wise hive mind of the isla forums

Any suggestions? Any mc 101 users out there? Is there any USB host quirks that I’m not getting?

Thanks in advance

Louis

I have a Jupiter x and I had the same thing happen with usb, my solution was to get a midi Y cable to get an additional midi out for a td3, instead of using usb

Thanks a lot for the input. I’ve just about reached the same conclusion. USB is best saved for syncing to computer and a MIDI router / splitter is the way to go. I’m pursuing the leanest possible setup with as few connections as pos and that was clouding my judgement a bit! thanks again for the help
