Hey all! I was heavily involved in the early S2400 testing and development, unofficially of course, Brad was incredibly generous with his time helping me not only get my 2400 early-ish, and also start using it properly amongst the likes of so many great producers in here.
Without going into too much detail, some unfortunate life events happened that shelved nearly all of my musical projects, and I’m just starting to pick my S2400 back up (been working on my live band for a bit). I realize a lot has changed with the instrument since I’ve last been active in here or any of the Isla forums, so I’m looking to see if someone can give me an ELI5 or a quick TL;DR of some of the major updates that have come since let’s call it 2023…to be safe lol. TIA, and feels good to be back round these parts!
Good to hear that you are getting back on track with the machine. For my part, I first got to know about it in 2024. My first hardware sampler. And I love it!
Anyways, this might not be exactly what you ask for, but a suggestion could be to read through the firmware update thread.
It could give a pretty good and quick overview I guess. All the new features are listed in bullet points for each update.
Maybe rewatching the video manual from the Isla Instruments YT page at first could be a good “beginning” before jumping to the updates. It is from late 2022. Although there has been several updates since, I think it is still of highly relevance.
Thanks Dave! I most certainly will be re-watching the video manual…was one and is still one of my favorite things about the S2400 actually! Since it’s been so long, I’m going to treat it like a brand new instrument and let my memory serve as happy accidents as I re-learn!
