As much as I hate to say it, we had to change the pinout of the card connector to accomodate how we want the machine to work.
As a result, the parva cards will not work (and would fry) if put into the caladan.
sorry about that.
I have a question about improvements to the Parva cards. I’ve ordered a Caladan (i’m super stoked) and currently own a Parva. The biggest issue I have with the Parva is how quite the saw wave gets at higher notes and routing note value to osc level in the mod matrix doesn’t work. Is fixing that issue one of the planned improvements to the new cards?
Would the other voice cards share the same modulation sources and matrix with the rest of the synth? In other words would we have 4 LFOs and Envelopes available on SEM or Mini Moog voice cards as well?
I really hope so because the sound of a SEM with the modulation of an Xpander would make this the UberOberhiem.
If you can pull of the A6/Andromeda sound?
You are recreating the best sounding Analog Poly right there ![]()
The lushness of the Oscillators… I buy 8 immediately ![]()
And to throw something in the room: A Sunsyn voice card… Maybe the guy from Jomox will help you, even fund you, for not having to answer THE question anymore ![]()
yes, the SAW getting quieter with higher notes has been fixed
Thanks for confirming. Altering hearing the new voice cards in Brad’s live stream I’m even more excited about this project.
Hi Brad
Think this is the most appropriate place to post this which I stumbled on recently.
New analog polysynth project JX2044 - sounds demo (WIP) - YouTube
Maybe check out this guy who’s currently developing a JX inspired synth (sounding good to my ears)
Perhaps he’s got the knowledge for the Jupiter Voice Cards?
I can see from his older video 1:01 secs in he initially used separate voice cards

I would buy a second Caladan for Jupiter voices, in particular the 4 and 6.
The jupiter is of course, one that I am considering, but it’s a weird one for me.
I find it a bit cliché to do it, it’s pretty simple, op-amp based oscillators and the ba662 signal path is easy to replicate, but just a bit, boring. yet on the other hand, I know if I build it, people will flock to it.
The one I really want to get into is the Andromeda Voice card, something that I don’t think has been done yet, and sounds fantastic.
I mustn’t jump the gun, we launch it with 3 cards and everything it can do internally.
The card interface will be open sourced. so those guys that have already put the effort into cloning voices should be able to make a buck by making the cards themselves, for the caladan..
Andromeda Voice cards are an excellent idea!
Now that would be a beast of a synth ![]()
Might be a bit early and you probably can’t say much on the party involved, but I remember on one of the live streams you had suggested CS80 cards could be a possibility. I never saw any reaction to that and nobody seems to have mentioned it since as far as I’m aware, so I just thought I’d express my interest. Peace and love ![]()
John. Old Crow made a cs80 filter card for the Shruthi. His design might be a starting point for a cs80 card. Shruthi decided early on to not burn through rate old ICS, but to recreate using off the shelf parts.
the CS80 caladan voice card would be a collab between Tim Warneck of retro linear and I.
Sadly, Karl Frick, his design partner unexpecedly passed away earlier this year which has put a hold on things.
But he has made a pretty much 1:1 CS80 voice card compatible with the original machine.
Our intention was to re-work the design onto a caladan compatible card.
Sorry to hear about the partner. I suppose the positive here is that it is not definitely cancelled. Thanks for the info ![]()
I would buy a third Caladan for CS80 cards.
…..in jest, but not joking. ![]()
