What would you like to see in the Caladan.
Don’t be shy, let us all know.
We’re listening!
Thanks Brad and team, Caladan is very cool - pre-ordered!
I’m wondering about the possibility of a kind of Matrix-6 card, but not so much for the DCO and filter, but rather for the very cool extra modulation sources it offers: the ramp generators, extra envelopes, extended LFOs - some kind of analogue voice that is rich is modulation options well beyond the typical selection would be very fun.
Then, while we’re at it, why not bring in some modulation more typically seen only in modular, such as random generators, step sequencers (specifically for modulation rather than “just” pitch), logic functions (AND/OR/XOR), coin toss, etc. etc. And modulation sources that can receive modulation from other sources, to create very complex evolving control signals. Is it showing that I used to work for Sound Transform building Serge Modular?
Happy to support this project - my S2400 is dearly beloved, so I’m looking forward to Caladan.
At least a couple of CV outs should developers choose to use them.
The Bit One synth comes to mind just love the sound of it but I wouldn’t say no to a Jupiter 8.
The current prototype has 4 CV/gate outputs…
The Isla home page states
4 x independent CV & Gate inputs
I can’t see any reference to CV outputs
correct me if I’m wrong?
Quite so!
I was thinking of the CV/gate inputs, apologies!
no worries!
I would like to see a software editor and/or plugin.
A hybrid card would be nice. Something like Prophet 12.
I’m thinking digital OSCs, maybe wavetable, like PPG style, bit-crushing, and sample rate reduction. Then analog filters with drive and feedback.
The OSCs could have different mix modes such as ring mod, FM, AM, XOR, etc.
Make an accessory to store additional cards.
I intend to collect a large number of the voice cards. It would be nice to have a case they can neatly slot into to keep them safe.
