BUG - is MUTE / SOLO ALL broken in the latest firmware?

I had thought hitting SHIFT and MUTE or SOLO would action that treatment on all channels. Am I imagining things?

For me it’s always been all sounds for that particular bank.

Haven’t you accidentally solo/muted in dsp mode?

From page 47 of the manual:

Mute/Solo Bank
Bank+Mute mutes or unmutes all eight tracks in the current bank, depending on the state of the mute button pressed. Bank+Solo works the same way.

Mute/Solo Undo/Redo

  • If any tracks are muted, Shift+any mute button un-mutes all tracks in all banks.
  • If no tracks are muted, Shift+any mute button re-mutes what was previously un-muted.
  • If any tracks are soloed, Shift+any solo button un-solos all tracks in all banks.
  • If no tracks are soloed, Shift+any solo button re-solos what was previously un-soloed.

I mute banks all the time, I didn’t know about the second section, though. Pretty cool stuff.

No, it simply isnt working at all for me the way it says in the manual.

I think perhaps it doesn’t work like that in the DSP pages.
have you tried the same when you are NOT in a DSP bank page?

Yes this is in bank A. Used to work. Does not now.

temporarily remove the s2400.set file from your sd card.
test again.

When you say temporarily removed, do you remain remove it and let a new one be generated?

So I moved that file OFF the S2400 and holding SHIFT and MUTE or SOLO still doesnt do anything.

SHIFT works for other things, and MUTE AND SOLO work fine on their own. I am in BANK A (or any other) MIXER.

I just noticed all my PROJECTS are gone… Not good. I put the file back on and they are back. That was a bit of a scare.

Further, creating a new project doesn’t fix the issue, either.

I have also reinstalled the firmware for the S2400 and DSP with no change.

I am not sure how or why this is happening but it has become a point of frustration as both SHIFT and the MUTE and SOLO keys work for other things.

Okay now its working again. I had to:

MUTE ALL channels in the bank (a) individually
Hit SHIFT and MUTE to UNMUTE ALL
Hit SHIFT and MUTE to MUTE ALL

Something seems off if that’s the way it is meant to work.

Shouldn’t there be a way to MUTE ALL without having to worry about what was muted previously and even in a different project?

Yes, that is how it supposed to work. I don’t say there should not be a mute all/unmute all feature, but the way it works remembering what channels you’ve muted or soloed is great.

Yes I agree the way it works IS USEFUL but it would be better if there was a TRUE mute / solo all function as well.

More functions more fun!
