Silencing a Slice or Part of a Sample?

I was wondering if anyone has been able to silence an area of a sample without actually removing it, or without saving parts of the sample separately, or without having to replay the chops into sequence and such… I tried it with the normalizing function while slicing to a negative decibel and it took the whole sample instead of the “selected” area. It not a big deal, but if someone knows how please let me know. If not, then It would be cool if they add this in the future. Just being able to highlight a chopped area of a sample, and bring down the volume of that specifically selected portion but keep the loop in tact like ol Mpcs can is pretty helpful at times. I’m very happy with my S2400 btw. Had it for I think a couple years now and I Love it.
Cheers

If i understand correctly then you want to silence a part of a sample. That’s easy. If you press the pad that you want with the sample on it such as A1. Put the function key on left of machine -multi mode and loop slice. Then it will place your sample on 8 pads across ……go to your desired chop … and hit the a or b button above the fader. Can’t remember which one but it will put the sample in the view box and then you can maneuver the chop to a silent portion. And then record it in as you need to.
