hi hope i can explain this clear enough…
so when sampler is ready and flickering away for record i’ve noticed at the bottom you can see which pads a free!!,so how about you hit a free pad to start/stop recording/sampling then its automatically assigned to THAT pad? maybe you can do this already?

This suggestion would definitely speed up my workflow, you wouldn’t think it would be too hard to implement either.
Side question, are you the JP Buckle from Rephlex records? If so I remember listening to Flyin Lo-Fi on repeat when it came out
