Quantization per multi-pad

  • Quantization per multi-pad

Thanks to @Mickey for helping me clarify the idea.

You already did an amazing job at implementing velocity-sensitive note repeat :100: so thank you for that.

Now for Superior Note Repeat™️

What is Superior Note Repeat™️?
Well, it’s definately not a trade mark, but it’s a note repeat that lets you easily access different quantizations as you play the pads. I.e. 1/8, 1/8t , 1/16, 1/16t …etc. This will allow for easy-to-create hi-hat patterns that swap back and forth between triplets and other quantizations. You know, like what those pesky kids now days do with all that trap music. (Not that I would eeeever listen to that! :eyes:)

How can this be achieved most efficiently while maximizing usabilty? ̶O̶n̶e̶ ̶w̶a̶y̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶l̶l̶o̶w̶ ̶e̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶t̶r̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶i̶t̶s̶ ̶o̶w̶n̶ ̶q̶u̶a̶n̶t̶i̶z̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶.̶ ̶ ̶F̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶a̶s̶s̶i̶g̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶q̶u̶a̶n̶t̶i̶z̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶v̶a̶l̶u̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶e̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶t̶r̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶(̶p̶e̶r̶h̶a̶p̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶r̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶s̶e̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶s̶ ̶m̶e̶n̶u̶)̶,̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶f̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶n̶e̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶e̶p̶a̶r̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶t̶r̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶e̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶e̶ ̶r̶e̶p̶e̶a̶t̶ ̶q̶u̶a̶n̶t̶i̶z̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶v̶a̶r̶i̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶.̶ ̶ ̶T̶h̶a̶t̶’̶s̶ ̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶w̶e̶l̶l̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶b̶e̶t̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶n̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶,̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ a better and Superior™️ implementation would be to also allow this quantization specification to each pad via multimode so that you don’t need to sacrifice an entire track to create variations in quantization.

Well, there it is! Thoughts and opinions welcome, except no criticism, because I will cry.

Quantization is already per track.

Quantization per multi-pad is not impossible to add in the future.

Beautiful, i had totally missed that!
