August firmware here. Holding down Note Repeat in Multimode uses the Quantize setting from base pad (not multied pad).
For example, if I enter Levels Multimode on Pad B3, and set Quantize on B3 to 1/8, then hold B8 for note repeat with the highest multi-velocity, then it uses the Quantize setting from B8 (even though I’m playing B3). If you enable the Quantize menu while doing this, you see the selected pad hop from B3 to B8 as well.
This is a bug.
(that said, if you were on a desert island and stuck with this bug forever, you could turn it into a sweet way to enable multimode quantize for the selected pad as a wild hack 
perfect for trap hi-hat rolls … but alas, it’s more annoying than useful)
