Referencing the Native Instruments Maschine, there are keys that can double or half a pattern length. When doubling, the pattern is duplicated. When halving, keep the pattern information intact, and then give the user an option to overwrite any edits if they choose to double the pattern again, or keep the existing information. Mapping this functionality to the F1 / F3 keys, which are still open, when in pattern edit mode would be superb.
