Paste & Replace Addition

I tried copying and pasting data from several tracks to replace data further along in the pattern. I used Paste & Replace but even though I deselected tracks I didn’t want replaced, when I pasted, those deselected tracks had their data removed.

As far as I can tell, there isn’t a way to paste & replace the data of certain tracks whilst leaving other certain tracks alone.

Wondering if there could be an update that can allow this?

For example in the UI you there could be 3 states for the tracks: ON (inverted), NOT ON (not inverted), OFF ( – ).

ON = Paste data from clipboard
NOT ON = Replace existing data with blank data (currently the way it works)
OFF = Keep existing data (ie: do nothing)

Interestingly, the OFF state already exists - if you copy data from a specific track (COPY + PAD) then when you go into the Paste menu then all the other tracks are not visible (instead of track numbers they are all – – – – –). But when you paste, their data still gets replaced & removed.

+1 from me.

Right now my workaround is deleting the tracks I’m replacing in the target sequence before using ‘Paste and Merge,’ but that’s an extra step (or more, depending on what’s on my clipboard and what bank I’m on) that adds up over time when trying different ideas.

It isn’t the end of the world by any means, but being able to only replace the tracks I select in the Paste menu would be super awesome.
