One of the things I think works really well on elektron machines is the ability to hold a step in the step sequencer and shift the microtiming with the arrow keys. It works great for quickly adjusting the timing without having to dive into the grid sequencer.
Suggestion for implementation:
-When in tr-mode make it possible to select a step by holding it, and make the arrow keys shift the timing by the smallest increments possible, regardsless of the current quantise setting.
-Keep the steps lit up on the buttons, but make them less bright if they’re shifted away from their ‘absolute’ value.
I tend to stay away from the standard nudge procedere much too often as it easily tends to f* off my pattern much too often when going force and back with the edits.
Please implement the OPs idea into the next firmware!
I absolutely love the s2400 however, adjusting micro timing is very tedious currently. If this idea were implemented it would make programming the s2400 so much faster. I feel that this is the only thing holding the s2400 back from being the greatest sampler ever made. Most of us hip hop guys work off grid and micro timing adjustments are challenging in the current firmware.
Thanks for making an amazing sampler Brad! Here’s to hoping you can take it one step further.
