Live loop longer than pattern length?

I would really like to be able to record loops longer than the pattern length.

Rather than a division of the pattern length it would be a big deal to be to record a live loop 2x 4x 8x the pattern length. This would make it much more live friendly for me.

I realize because of the limitations on file size this may only work with a 2 or 4 bar pattern but it would be awesome for my workflow and performance possibilities.

Before I got my unit, I foolishly assumed the looper would work this way, so definitely hopeful for something like this in the future. There are workarounds (increase the pattern length), but they’re pretty annoying.

When the live loop is recorded to a 2 bar pattern and then the pattern is duplicated the Live Loops do not duplicate.

This isn’t as important of a feature request for me as I’d rather not have to duplicate those 2 bar patterns, but thought that could be helpful too.

Trying to figure out a workflow where I can use the Live Loops for performance, almost there but not yet. In the meantime I’m going to sync my eventide h90 looper function but this is far from ideal I really wanted the loop architecture on the isla without having to slave anything external.

You make your 2 bar pattern, eg P01, copy it over to P02 and extend the P02 to the length you wish to live loop, eg 8 bars.

Make your live loop, save it as an audio file and assign it to a pad,so you have the live loop free for more live looping.

I hope this helps.

I just experimented with slaving the h90 looper and it definitely does not work. For now I guess I’m stuck with having to make 4 or 8 bar patterns and my loops always matching that. I’d really like to play 16 bar loops or at least 8 bar loops on top of 2 bar or 4 bar patterns. I know there’s a lot going on but I see now that people have been requesting this previously

Definitely a well needed feature add. I often want to track in a 4 bar part over a 2 bar loop.

Would save a few steps to have this a much more needed imo then recording a loop smaller than the current pattern
