Has Anybody Figured Out Plugin "Assign to Controller" Yet?

Hey DSP folks -

One of the things I’ve been hopeful for is tactile control of the new plugins to dial my kick / snare / hat busses. When you’re in the parameter screen of a plugin (having assigned a plug, then hit “enter” to get to parameters) you can press numPad 4 to get to an “assign to controller” sub menu. Those controllers can be fader, knobs, or buttons, and they have a number field 1-8. That strongly suggests a device layout where you can tweak a customized channel strip, hopefully in a per-buss manner. Presumably there is a panel mode that complements this sub menu. Has anybody figured out more on this?

FWIW my DSP worked on the first pass installation. Nice work, ISLA folks.

I recall seeing this being demonstrated on a recent live stream of the features on YouTube. Pretty sure what you’re describing is available! I’d try checking the latest dsp stream that was published last week

Huh. I watched that and don’t recall seeing this, but real life dictates that I need to turbo skim those you tube updates and may have missed it. I’ll take another look, however I’m hopeful we’ll have a written manual soon. Thank you, btw.

All good. There’s also a chance I’m misunderstanding what you mean but yeah lets hope that manual will arrive soon and clear some things up

If you’re playing with a plugin’s parameter list, hit number “4” on the keypad. A submenu will pop up that asks what controller to assign this to. What I can’t figure out is what panel mode corresponds to this - like if I set up a drumSlam / EQ / plate channel strip for the snare - how do I tweak on that from the front panel?

This is an extremely exciting feature, at least if it’s what I hope it is.

Press F7 from pattern mode to get to the assigned DSP parms.

It is in the help screen  Manual is coming soon. Sorry to make this a treasure hunt.

Fcking sweet!

It’s all part of the fun!
Keep up all the great work it’s truly a pleasure :fist:

Ahhh! Ok it sounds like this might have been what I was asking for in DSP Multimode

If so, I didnt realize this was already a feature. I dont have any more time to test this out today but I’m excited to soon! I swear I’ve watched all the videos multiple times and I’m still missing stuff. The manual cant get here fast enough! haha

@eazyian It is not the same thing. But you do have a good idea in that other post. Makes me think of several improvements.
