Flipping sample to reverse while playing causing pause/issues

i thought i was going mad but if you reverse a sample while playing pattern it causes momentary pauses on other channels - basically the playback

easy to replicate for me by pressing f7 on a beat and off a beat

the sample is 7 secs long -
