I deleted and re-uploaded the file to the SD card, and that helped with the successful installation.

Ok that’s good news.
The s2400 did what this supposed to in this case.
It keeps a backup copy of the firmware on the module. If the new firmware being flashed doesn’t look right at the end of copying, it won’t replace the running firmware.
Hence it never completes the process.
