DSP Plugin discussion

I believe the Live FX mode is parked on the main outs, not the individual outs. If you want to put effects on a track going through, say, output 4, you need to go to the DSP Mixer (Bank + 0), then hit Shift + pad 4 (in this case) to add plugins to that output.

Brad mentioned somewhere either that we may get them or are getting them as individual channel plugins in the future, I can’t remember which

awesome!! thanks so much. testing now

Hi, yes the Live FX, Shift +9 is only on the main outs or headphones and not on the channels.
route all sounds to out 1 or 2. Press Shift+9 to enter Live FX. it will now say Live FX. Press Shift + any Pad. you have 8 slots or Pads to load with single Live FX. It will now say Type Bypass.Click Bypass with encoder and turn and select any plugin. now press your pad, it will turn green and you should hear the effect. if not, turn that pad’s dual pot or fader and you should hear FX change.

They appear to mostly work. some menu options are not accessible. probably due to it having gui based interactivity. Thanks so much, this gives us more extremely fun LiveFX style fx. some useful plugins in there to sort through…
ok ,these plugins are maybe more fun than LiveFX. some excellent stuff in here!

Thanks guys, I have made some progress with Vlad helping - but my VST and LV2 folders on my SD card are empty. I suspect they need the plugins in them and I have maybe missed a step.

Not sure if I missed something but when I try to adjust instrument vst parameters like cutoff and resonance, nothing happens even with the values changing. Seems to work fine for the DSP effects. Peace.

There are NO plugins on your SD Card. Unless you put them there (see below)
There are over 100 plugins already installed to the DSP module itself.

When you click add plugin/preset on a pad, it will present with an explorer window, giving you the following choices.

-Internal
-SD Card (You’re never going to load plugins here, but if you saved a plugin preset, that will save here, under /Presets/ you can also load saved presets from here:

-DSP Card (This is where plugins are)
— Airwindows Plugins
— MDA Plugins
— User Plugins

Installing new plugins involves copying them into the relevant folder on your SD card and then using the plugin sync function which will copy them from your SD Card and install them onto the DSP Module. If you then delete those plugins from the SD Card, it will also remove them from the module as it keeps sync between the two internal and SD card folders.
All this will be explained in videos and in the manual coming shortly, we’re just busy getting them out the door right now, so please just enjoy and explore the internal stuff for a short while.

for the SF2 instrument plugins, the filter and envelope controls only work if they are “baked in” in the actual Soundfont. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmzuqsw-QBg

The DSP card definitely does enable effects on individual outputs.

Here is a demonstration. Thanks Nick and Vlad. This was confusing me and now I am really happy.

Gratitude.

Thank you SO MUCH ROB. I have it all working as expected now and it is damn fine.

I have emailed Isla support regarding the Audio Plugins Directory and a few of the links being broken. Specifically the Bollie XT and a few of the Ian Wilson instruments. Not a big deal but I can not get the Bollie Delay XT (and have looked elsewhere).

The link works fine for me.

I noticed that the PAN in the DSP mixer works in reverse on headphones — 100% to the left, but I hear the sound in the right ear, and vice versa.

Is it possible to set the master out to send only Send A and Send B (100% wet signal), without hearing channels 1-8? I’d like to use individual outs 1-8 and have only Send A and B on the master output.
