Classic (10 Second) Mode

Then why make it compatible with SP-1200 floppies, borrow so heavily from the original design or copy the pitch algorithm? Having a 12-bit/26kHz mode is crippling the audio quality but everyone loves it. There’s no escaping that the S2400 was designed and marketed specifically for those of us who wanted an SP-1200 but didn’t want to take out a second mortgage to get one.

Those who know, know that the main reason people who have used the SP-1200 for years continue to do just as much for the workflow as the sound.

fair point, except back-compat is a feature and 12-bit is pretty much an effect. A new OS is a bit of an ask, but perhaps not impossible if the code was open source

It wouldn’t need to be a totally new OS, more a modified version of the UI, simified sequencer, lock the sample engine to classic and add the 2.5 seconds per track limit.

That and learn to have some self control. It’ll help you becoming a better version of yourself as well. Why let the AI control your life when you can choose your own boundaries?
