Vesa mounting suggestions

Hey all,
Wondering if anyone has tried using some sort of Vesa mounting system with their S2400. I have an unused mounting arm and was thinking of trying to find a shelf or other accessory that I could use to “mount” the S2400 so I can swing it out of the way - not looking to screw into the unit.

More trouble than it is worth?

Another thought was to take off the feet and mount a piece of wood to the bottom using the same screws and then attach the Vesa plate to the wood.

This does look sturdier than the shelf I was looking at. I like that it grips it.
