Track 1 Cutoff/Resonance Knob

Recently purchased a used S2400 unit that was in great condition. Later found that the track 1 Cutoff / Resonance knob was sticking. The knob works, however it takes two hands to make them work independently of each other. Not a big deal but is annoying at times. Any suggestions on getting it repaired since I didn’t buy it from Isla? My local electronics shop won’t touch it.

DeOxit F5 lubricant. Small amount down into the pot and work it gently until the tracks free up.

Same thing happened to me. Got a replacement through Isla, haven’t gotten around to getting it fixed yet though. Contact cleaner didn’t work for me.

I have the exact same issue. On track 1, too.

I decided to just live with it, because I already had to return the first 2 units Isla sent me for other issues. (First one, filter/resonance knob on track 1 didn’t work at all. Second one, had a big scratch on a pad with backlight shining through.) So by the time I got the 3rd, I decided to just keep it moving, because even though I have that knob issue, everything works otherwise.

I figure I just charge it to the fact that they’re a small, boutique company.

I’m definitely not opening up my machine and trying to fix it.

I will give them credit for responding to my issues on the first 2 units swiftly and professionally. And, truthfully, if I had made a fuss on the 3rd unit, I believe they would have taken that one back too.

But it kind of felt like I was just trading one issue for another every time I returned. So since the machine was fully functional and didn’t have any cosmetic defects, I decided to just accept it.

But I love the machine, otherwise.

Yes sir..it is more of an annoyance than an issue since it still works. I tried contact cleaner but that didn’t work. Figured I would reach out and see what solutions were out there. Brad actually reached out over Facebook with a solution. This machine is dope, and I really appreciate the support response. BTW, I am following you on YouTube. Enjoying the content.

Appreciate you brother!

What was the solution Brad gave you?

I am getting a whole new pot board to swap out. Considering the cost of a repair shop replacing just one knob, buying the whole pot board and swapping it out myself is a better option. The way he described it seems to be easiest as well.

Let us know how it goes. :folded_hands:t5: If it goes well for you, maybe I’ll hit them up too.

i would use that money to buy a soldering iron!
