I use a lot of loops and then retrigger during a pattern… witch means samples then play beyond the end of the pattern…
that means switching to a new pattern you get a cacophsny of overlapping samples.
The workaround is to use step editor to find the offending samples and adjst the envelope (overall length)
… but is fairly laborious to find the sample/track in question then find it in step editor then edit etc etc
Would be great to have an option to “ end all samples at pattern end” so that when switching patterns there’s no overlaps
Why don’t you just put a note on the pattern you want to silent the pad with velocity to 0 so it cuts the sound?
Well yeah… I’d have to put a note for several tracks spread over several banks in all thirty patterns…
I recognise is mainly due to poor planning on my part when writing the patterns in the first place.
That is to say there are numerous ways of resolving but they all require a fair bit of work
By necessity the drum Loops are Spread over many tracks
Yeah! some work involved indeed, just wanted to let you know the workaround I use. I prefer to have to use this workaround and having the option for a sample to bleed over the next pattern if I chose to, than it being cut by design. An option per pad would be dope thou.
Yup same here. Nightmare. But I thought I read it here recently, that the team is fixing this in the next update?
OK so been playing around some more and have realised i can achieve most of what i need to do with choke groups and output assignments
You could use gate mode where the sample plays as long as the pad is held for the loops, too
Yes, gated is always an option although with Loops you usually have to edit to make them ‘exactly’ the right length in my experience
Turn on “Stop on Mute” for long sounds that you want to stop when the pattern is stopped.
Thanks Mickey, I’d missed that option, and yes I will use that very helpful…
This thread was more about samples continuing to play when switching from pattern to pattern (i.e. ‘leeching’ into the next pattern) and ways to prevent this using either gated or choke groups (although a dedicated option to just have that as an option from pattern to pattern being desirable)
Ah, I see. Well I think the stop on mute setting should work on pattern change the same way it does on stop. I added this to my todo list.
ah that’s great. Thanks Mickey
