Yep, you can! You can copy/paste all events selected in step programming, or you can copy/paste events from an individual pad. Explained on page 41 of the manual, pasted below
Select and Copy
Hold shift while moving the cursor to select an area of the pattern. The selected area will be inverted. When a selection exists, some functions change their behavior and additional functions are available.
Shift+Arrows/Shift+Encoder: Select a section of the pattern.
F5 Long-press: Play the selected area. The play area will not change when the cursor is moved. Press F5 to cancel the play area.
Enter: Display the Selection Actions menu.
Erase: Display the Selection Erase screen.
Erase+Enter/ Erase+Encoder Press: Removes all events from the selection.
Erase+Pad: Erase one track’s events from the selection.
Copy: Copy the selection to the clipboard. Note that the whole selection is copied, including any “white space” that does not contain events.
Copy+Pad: Copy one track’s events from the selection (or under the cursor) to the clipboard. Continue to hold Copy, move the cursor, then press the same pad to paste the copied events. Or, press a different pad to transcribe the pasted events, that is, paste the events and their parameters but change the track.
Press F7 to paste the clipboard into the current pattern at the current cursor position. Events can be pasted into the same pattern they were copied from, a different pattern(s), or even a different project because the clipboard is retained when a different project is loaded.
Only chosen tracks will be pasted. In the screenshot above, there are events for four tracks in the clipboard, but only A1 and B3 are chosen to be pasted. Tracks A2 and A5 are not chosen. While a bank is highlighted or being edited, pressing number keys will toggle a track. Pressing a Pad will toggle that track any time, no matter what field is highlighted.
Checking All Tracks will choose all tracks. Unchecking All Tracks will clear all chosen tracks. All Tracks is checked by default. A quick way to select only one track is to uncheck All, then press the pad for the track you want to paste.
The same method of choosing tracks is also used on the Erase screen and the Modify, Transpose, and Transcribe Selection screens.
If there is a selection when pasting, the pasted data will only affect the selection. Shift and Add Time options are not available when pasting into a selection.
Transcribe: Changes the track of events when they are pasted. All chosen tracks are transcribed by the same amount. For example, if transcribe is 1, then A1 becomes A2, B3 becomes B4, etc. Copies: Pastes multiple copies of the clipboard into the pattern, one after another.
Paste & Replace: Any existing events are replaced by whatever is in the clipboard. This is like erasing an area the size of the clipboard before pasting.
Paste & Merge: Pasted events are merged with existing events. Whatever is already in the pattern stays, and the clipboard events are added.
Paste & Shift: The clipboard is inserted into the pattern, and any existing events are shifted to the right. Events shifted past the end of the pattern are erased.
Paste & Add Time: Like paste and shift but, also extends the length of the pattern by the size of the pasted area. Added time is always rounded up to the nearest whole measure.
F7: The same as clicking Paste & Replace. This allows a double-click of F7 to quickly paste.
Hi Stirman,
Thanks for taking time to reply. I was looking to copy actual events in the song mode, like pattens, repeats, tempo changes etc. Ideally copying the solos/mutes as it tedious.
Thanks
Jamie
I did it a couple days ago, Im new to the s2400.
I looked for it in F10 (Help)
As in copying Song 1 to Song 2?
Hi Leighty,
No copy sections of the song like the solos/mutes.
I’ll give an example… I like to use one or two pattens and use solos to mask the parts of the patten I don’t need for that part of the song. So on the first drop of the song I may use break on A1, HH on A5, bass on B2, Fx on B5 and Vocals on C1. In patten mode I would set all my solos up, press shift+F2 to add this to the song. May then I would change some things for the next part of the song, press shift+F2 to add that to the song. Now when I press song mode button I’m in song mode and can see my pattens and the solos. I would the like to be able later to copy these sections without having to go back into patten mode and remember the original solos or when in song mode add blank solos commands on the timeline and remember what’s solo’ed from before.
Thanks
Jamie
