Sampling via phono

Yo – my turntable is plugged in to Phono 1. When I start Sampling, the audio only comes through when Input 3+4 is selected. Please point me to some tips so I can learn why!

I have a Radial J33 so phono pre-amp is not a problem, but I thought the S2400 had one built-in?

I remember seeing a post on this before.

Thanks. I should have searched.

Still, what I’m reading suggests Phono 1 should still have audio when I am trying to sample it. The other forum posts don’t directly explain why Line 3&4 would have sound while Phono 1 does not. There may be some settings I need to change.

What are your input monitor settings?

Same. I would suggest double checking input monitor settings.

And how the J33 is connected. The s2400 already has a built-in RIAA preamp. So you can choose to use it instead or not.

If your J33 is connected to the s2400, I guess it’s sending a line level signal.

I should clarify – I was trying to use the S2400’s own built-in preamp, with my turntable connected directly to the S2400’s Phono 1. My statement about the J33 was to say i.e. I don’t need to use the S2400’s built-in pre-amp if I can’t get it working. (But then I also wouldn’t choose the Phono 1 input.)
