Resampling outputs to input

Hi all,

Very new here, S2400 arriving on Monday and for now I’m enjoying myself with coming up with plans how to use it

Anyone tried resampling in the sense that you feed back an individual output (or the main outs perhaps) back into the inputs? Is there a reason why this wouldn’t work?

Cheers from NL

Yeah I do this all the time. You can make an fx loop using the individual outs and the looper.

I often use outputs 7-8, they are routed into my sp404sx which is then routed back into s2400 inputs 3-4.

This way, I can play my track, send anything I want to apply fx to to outputs 7-8, adjust the fx while hearing how it sounds, and record it into a looper track whenever I like how it sounds. After that, I just save the loop to a regular track to replace the original.

The regular sampling wont work while playing your track, so you have to use one of the looper tracks for this. If you dont want to apply fx but just get the machines oldschool sound there is an internal ‘resample’ function which samples stuff into the filtered inputs (1-2) and makes it 12 bit. No cables needed for this.

Peace (from NL as well!)

Ah, dank je

It’s starting to click with me now, I didn’t get it fully from what I picked up from the manual and videos. It’s an intelligent implementation and I’m sure it all will make more sense once I get the unit in front of me.

If you are not sing the looper you can also route out and in coming in on the input monitor. I think this doubles the dry signal though so you will need a send type fx fully wet before the bounce (you can render audio from even midi tracks easily) , don’t quote me, I only did it a few times early on. It’s just easier to record straight in with an effect between source and sample input for me.
I have all my outs going to my daw so add effects there these days, prefer having more control after the fact.
There are quite a few threads on this if you search from early on in its history, worth reading.
