Rec/Edit doesn't engage when sequencer is playing [RESOLVED]

With the sequencer stopped in the default pattern view, I can press record and play and everything works as expected. However if I press play then engage rec/edit the red light doesn’t come on rec/edit and it doesn’t record. I swear in the old OS, pressing rec/edit would engage recording at any point in pattern mode.

According to the manual it does seems to suggest you need to “re-engage” the button implying u must have started in record mode. So can you no longer press record after pressing play? Sorry if I’m being stupid.

“While recording, press Rec/Edit to disengage and reengage recording without stopping
playback. This allows for practicing changes. You can play over top of the pattern without
changing it. It is also a good way to audition parameter changes. For example, you can tweak the
pitch and press a pad until it sounds just right, then press Rec/Edit again to reengage recording,
then press pads to add them to the pattern.”

While recording (not playing) press Rec/Edit to disengage and reengage recording without stopping
playback.
To start recording, you must press Rec/Edit+Run/Stop. That is true whether it is currently playing or not.

Yes definitely same behaviour before and after update.

But if it’s possible it would be great if it could be changed to just pressing the red/edit button when the sequence is running.

I hesitate to make this a feature request so soon after an update though!

thanks for confirming

Do it!

I wonder if it is a legacy behavior to have the tempo field highlighted each time rec/edit and run/stop are pressed at the time.
Any SP users here?
