Has anyone tried to make plastic keys to swap out the current? Might be a big project to undertake, but seems like it could be achievable.
Could you elaborate what you mean? I don’t understand which keys you are talking about. All the pads on my KB are rubber.
Yea, it would be nice if they were able to be swapped out with how keyboards are made. Plastic key, with a rubber button underneath. This way it works the same, but the plastic is much more durable to the touch. There is a mechanism that holds the rubber in place.
That was really my question. Big task, but with 3D printing these days, didn’t know if anyone has tried.
I’d say it could easily be done, I wouldn’t care to do it myself, but it could be requested to be manufactured that way with the right 3d files. Maybe that could be a popular request? Otherwise, I see no harm in 3d printing based on some measurements.
Sounds like something I might be interested in. I’ve got a 3d printer (hobbyist, but I try)
