Hi everyone. See the attached photo 1. My Kordbot, kept under cover, no dust, no debris, never dropped, etc. Suddenly developed a fault. The highlighted keys just stopped working. Everything else works without issues, but these selected keys do not register the presses. However, they do light up if they are part of a chord (when I press one of the last 8 keys on keyboard). I opened the device up and I can’t see any faults, apart from these weird temperature-related melted bits of foam at the back, around the chips (second photo). What can I do to fix it?
Another user in a private message suggested that “LED driver chip” was faulty, but appaarently that’s not it. An electronic repairs expert checked my Kordbot and he says that “Multiplexer Integrated Circuit” is defective. Will post an update when the repair is completed.
