In the latest production version of the firmware (S2400_20230310.upd) there is an issue with playback overriding the filter of a RR MM track.
The track is MM synced on all params and has the value ‘SHUFFLE’ for RR. When I go into MM and press level, B for any pad, change filter for that pad, B-pad, then the filter is applied to that specific pad/slice. This works for all pads (slices) inside the MM.
However, if I try to do it from outside the MM it is not working. If the sample is not RRed, I can change the filter of all slices by still having level lit, pressing B to enter playback override mode, change the filter and pressing B-pad to commit. After changing the pad to SHUFFLE, the filter cannot be committed anymore.
I upload a project with guidelines to reproduce, since I don’t know yet what are the minimal steps to get there.
It did commit the filter changes. On the main (non-multi) pad that was recorded. The reason you cannot hear the changes is that the main pad is not playing, the multi pads are.
That makes sense. However, it is inconsistent with the same scenario but without SHUFFLE (no round robin). Then it changes the MM notes (plus main) from outside the MM.
It is not inconsistent because they are not doing the same thing.
B+Pad in multi mode modifies filter in the pattern for that multi pad, not for any other multi pads and not for the main pad.
B+Pad not in multi mode modifies filter in the pattern for that track regardless of which pad (main or multi) was recorded. But it does not change the current filter value of the multi pads. If you want it to do that, then turn off “Multi Enabled” in the filter settings for that track.
When a multi pad plays because of round-robin, it plays with the current filter (and other parameter) value, regardless of what is recorded in the pattern.
