Incredible update! Does this mean one-sample polyphony?

Brad, you’ve put together an amazing team. There are very few companies out there that would put this much work in extending their products after release and what you guys have done so far is incredible so thank you.

Question on the new polyphony/output setup: can one sample on one track be triggered multiple times without choking itself?

I want to take a looped sample and play chords & melodies with it using an external keyboard but I couldn’t find a voice parameter in the track settings. Is that possible now?

The biggest limitation of the S2400 was those output chokes & I am ecstatic about that so this isn’t a huge deal, but I wanted to ask in case there’s a method in place for this now

No. You would have to put the same sample on more than one track.

Right, yes I figured I could load a sample into multiple tracks → route each track to the same output → then set each track to the same MIDI channel

But this leads to all of the tracks being triggered at once (more like UNISON than POLY). So as of now, each track would need to be tuned to a different note ahead of time to create a chord.

That works great for making stabs especially since we can bounce the chords to new samples (excellent job btw!) but it prevents external gear from being able to play melodies across multiple octaves

I don’t mean to turn this into a feature request, but maybe filtering incoming MIDI per track would be the easiest way to extend the playability?

That way you could mitigate the voice stealing or even trigger multiple sounds on one MIDI channel without setting their MIDI Mode to None. Especially useful since most MIDI keyboards only output on one channel

Might not be too difficult to implement on the S2400 screen. Kurzweil offers something similar on their workstations:

Anyways, thanks for clearing that up :+1:

This is my top request as well. In the meantime, haven’t tried it, but there may be midi tools that can distribute a controller’s notes on consecutive midi channels. I’m sure this exists in plugin form. Less sure for hardware.

One of these might do it in plug-in form

Will we get polyphony?
