Anyone have any luck using the audio4c with the S2400 being that it’s a class compliant audio device? I use an iPad right now for effects (soon to be DSP board), and my thought was hooking both it and my iPad up to the 4c for more inputs and more flexible routing.
please explain what you plan to connect how?
The audio4c is a class compliant audio interface that has two usb ports and is able to be hooked up to two computers/devices at the same time. The inputs and outputs from both devices are seen and can be routed accordingly. My thought was I could hook up my iPad to one port and the S2400 to the other. That way I could use the audio4c’s four inputs for synths, the s2400’s usb audio inputs accordingly and route them all out of the same two outputs on one of the machines.
Here’s a link to the manual. It seems like it would work but I might be missing something.
the audio4c has two device ports (to connect to PC/Mac/iPad) and one host port (to connect MIDI devices). The S2400 itself does class compliant audio on it’s DEVICE port, not on its HOST port, which is for MIDI / KEYBOARD only. so you cannot cross route audio data from and iPad to the S2400
I know the S2400’s device port is needed for usb audio. My plan was to hook up the S2400’s device port to one of the usb device ports on the audio4c and my iPad to the other one. I’ve seen this work with maschine+ which also has a class complaint audio interface, so that’s why I was curious if anyone had tried it with the S2400.
the audio4c is an usb DEVICE for audio, it cannot be a HOST for the S2400 which itself is a DEVICE for audio
