In the Tetris game that is my desk, I just so happen to have difficulty contorting my hand to the trim pot around the back to dial in the input level. It’s all roughly gainstaged to need the 10x boost, but I need to go up or down 5-10db either direction depending on source material. I would be super pumped if I were able to shift + encoder twist to boost or cut more granularly. I would have fewer tunnels in my carpel for sure!

Sorry about that. The gain knob is analog, not under software control. And the gain multiplier, while under software control, is just an electronic switch with three options.
