Can i load up sounds off a external hard drive on the s2400 or just off a sd card?
My understanding is that you can only use an SD card.

Using the USB connection on the S2400 you can access the SD card from your CPU though. So if your external drive were connected to the computer, you could just drag and drop samples into your SD card, then load them up.
