It would be awesome to have a feature in the waveform editor that lets us delete stuff between the start and endpoints and have the machine cram the remaining audio together.
Example #1: I have a long sample, but only need some slices at the beginning and end. I want those slices in the same group of multis to make sequencing easier. Being able to remove all the unused audio between would cut down on file size and make any further slice adjustments a little easier.
Example # 2: I have a sample with a loud vinyl pop in the middle of the sound. I’ll never be able to filter it out all the way, and the prospect of clipping makes it tough to get quieter samples to the right volume. Being able to zoom all the way in and surgically remove that pop would be really helpful.
Not having it isn’t a dealbreaker for me—and I don’t know if it’s even possible—but I think it would make a great quality-of-life addition to the S2400.
