Hello everyone at Isla Instruments and fellow S2400 users,
First off, I’d like to say how much I’m enjoying the S2400—it’s an incredible machine, and the workflow keeps getting better with every update. I have a small feature request that I think could make sample selection even more intuitive and efficient, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
I’d like to suggest adding a “favoriting” option when selecting samples to assign to a track. My idea is to have something simple, like a little heart icon next to the sample name, which you could toggle on or off. Once favorited, these samples would stand out visually (maybe with the heart filled in or highlighted) when browsing through the list. This would make it super easy to spot your go-to samples at a glance, especially when working with a large library.
I noticed you’ve already implemented a similar favoriting system for plugins with the DSP card upgrade, and it works brilliantly there! I’ll attach a screenshot from one of your live streams showing how nicely it’s done with the plugins—just imagine that same vibe for samples. Applying this concept to sample selection would feel like a natural extension of that design, streamlining the process of picking favorites without needing to dig through folders every time.
What do you all think? Has anyone else felt the need for something like this? And to the Isla team—any chance this could be considered for a future firmware update? Thanks for all the amazing work you’re doing—keep it up!
Best regards,
Gaspar Pini
