TS or TRS cables?

Hi,
Does it matter one way or another if you use balanced or unbalanced cables into the S2400?
Thanks

I’m using a mix of both on my 8 outs and I haven’t noticed a difference to be honest.

Thanks!

for optimal noise performance use TRS cables into balanced inputs

Thanks, I noticed on the specs page under I/O
it calls the outputs “ psuedo balanced”, so wasn’t exactly sure what that meant.

actually that wording is wrong, what is called “pseudo” balanced is still really balanced in terms of impedance…

Awesome. Thanks for clarifying, av500.

does anyone know what the best option for the lowest noise into the s2400 is when using external input via a balanced +4dbu line level patchbay? e.g balanced input, unbalanced input, +4 or -10 line level, ground lift? yada yada

i got some low level noise with this config and thinking its maybe a ground loop, impedance mismatch or something. Keen to have the external input to the s2400 on the patchbay to use dsp effects with other instruments, however the noise is a trade-off that is less than ideal.

There’s no noise when connecting straight from cassette player to s2400 input, of which is consumer level unbalanced as opossed to pro level balanced. had a similar issue with guitar pedals too (which i plan to re-amp with transformer soon) and wondering if this may be a similar issue?

+4 generally better than -10
Encourages better gain staging if nothing else afaik
