Hi, maybe I have missed it in the livestream, but is it possible to trigger the loaded samples from the computer keyboard?

These are 42

Akai’s - .pgm /.snd
Native Instruments - .mgrp / .mxgrp
Propellerheads - .rex / .rx2

Greetings Brad I want to thank you and your team for everything you do

In my non-Windows, non-(modern)Apple world, I suppose seeing “Error: File System Access API is not supported in your browser.” or double-clicking on a pad doing nothing, is because this is basically a Windows-only application? or, is only supported in American operating systems? I’m using a recent Firefox browser on a recent Linux release, you know, like the OS that runs the drum machine itself… Any chance this is just a switch in someone’s development environment?

Only chrome browsers. At least it seems that way

For those who are Chrome averse, the web app also works on Chromium.

One bug I have encountered is when I assign a long sample to a pad. Pressing the pad multiple times will cause the sample to be layered over the sample that is already playing. Relatedly, there does not appear to be any way to stop long samples from being played in their entirety.

i use safari and i can use all the features. the only thing i have not been able to do is what brad mentioned – the browser dont like to be asked to search one’s computer, which is the api error. you can still drag and drop onto the pad.

…And you don’t mind foregoing your privacy either I suppose. We’re google/microsoft free here. I knew it would be cartel-centric.. Google have won with the cool-aid treats for free. Yunno, as free = trustworthy, dependable, honest, and safe. Yeay! Likes! Thumbs up! In honesty, I looked on the Vite (what the web app was built in/with) dev page and code examples, and it’s vague at best in describing their ecosystem as “compatible with modern browsers” - that means Google, Microsoft, Apple are approved. So I’m back to my initial observation: This web app requires acceptance of the Google privacy policy - which is nothing to do with a music making facility, or Isla insts’, or..
Yeah. Nice one, but dropping a sound, it disappears, douple-clicking, does nothing. It would be nice if the developer would state: “Note: this app requires a Google OS, browser, or device, and acceptance of the US privacy policy to use.” -And I wouldn’t be sitting here speculating over the obvious monopoly that has once again rolled over me, and my… doubly Linux-run (core, and DSP board) beautiful drum machine. That disconnect just baffles me. Time for some kool aid and Fox News!

Brad said in the stream that it was done and only tested in chrome. Maybe you missed that because it is in youtube.

this is quite infuriating to read to be honest.
I have spent my time creating a 100% free tool for anyone to use and hosting it at my own expense. Yet, you want to come on shit on the technology and/or services I used to do it.
If it really bothers you that much, you could setup a virtual machine and run it through a VPN or install a tracker blocker plugin or something instead of choosing to have a rant about it.

I’m not about to invest a bunch more time making it compatible with every single browser out there or to make it fit with everybody’s personal use case.

It’s free, it came with a disclaimer that it has only been tested with Chrome.

come on mate, take your tin foil hat off.
sheesh.

Hello,
Thank you! Thank you!
This is very useful tool, I use it directly from Cubase MediaBay player and drag it into the pads,
(I’ll wait quietly now until the DSP card sales resume : ) )

as stated above, it works fine on Linux/Chromium, and I did not have to sign my firstborn away
