That’s a great feature, I’m very excited, can’t wait to check it out when it arrives!
Yeah mine are exactly the same and although it sucks to hear other going through it, at least it’s likely the design as opposed to a faulty unit. It is a shame though as I also find them unusable and just turn them all off
Shame. I wonder if they could boost the high frequencies of the audio before it hits the filters to compensate, but maybe that wouldn’t work in practice?
With so many saying they just don’t use them I can’t help feel it’s a wasted feature / cost.
Agree, its a complete waste of something that could be very usefull in theory.
The dsp card might be usefull for eq compensating, I’ll check that once I get my card!
iirc they are also working on a filter card to replace the current one in the S2400 (and going forward S2400s will come with this card). Iirc it offers adjustable filters on all the outputs so in theory you should be able to get it closer, I think.
When did you purchase your S2400? I bought mine in 2019 of Jan. All the filters on my S2400 sound like the SP1200’S original filters with a little tweaking of the 8 filter knobs accross it’s front panel. I owned 2 SP1200’s in the past one gray and one black model. Some outputs offered a slight low pass filter others had none and it was also what type of cable you were using to override filter or bypassing them all by using TRS cables. On some SP1200 outputs if you only plugged the cable tip in and not the sleeve you would then hear the filter on that output. Hope this helps. Try using the low pass filters on your seperate outputs. They sound great!
Are you saying the digital filters on the S2400 sound like the fixed analog filters on the SP1200 with some tweaking? I don’t have an SP to compare but the digital filters on the S2400 sound good to me. I honestly need to experiment more with the S2400 analog filters though.
