Metronome showing up in analog outs even when turned off

I’m tracking into an 8 channel interface and this metronome will not leave me alone. It is switched off in the menu but it will not go away. Oddly, it appears to be tied to one of my samples. No matter what output I move the sample to, the metronome shows up. There is no way this could be programmed into pattern or song creation, right? Also, the sample that it appears tied to (a single low kick) keeps intermittently going in and out. No other samples have issues.

I know that I’ve posted a lot of weird behavior with the machine lately but I promise I’m not making it up.

Just to add on to the weirdness: as I’m still troubleshooting, the metronome just turned off halfway through the track without any user interaction and the kick sample disappeared with it. The kick on the adjacent channel, however, jumped in volume and the timing (MIDI) went wonky for a second then resynced.

The only thing playing is the 2400 and Ableton. Nothing else is running.

Note: Repeatable. Drops out in song mode at the same time. There are no events recorded at that time during song mode AND the exact pattern that is playing when it happens, plays both with and without the metronome.

If it’s repeatable, please share the project with someone close to Isla so that it can be officially confirmed.
Otherwise, it will just be ignored.

maybe you bnounced a sample with the metronome turned on?

Yeah, I considered that but there were no bounced samples in the patterns used in the song. Furthermore, the pattern that it kept dropping out on played with metronome before the glitch event and without it afterwards. I verified that the metronome was completely off in the 2400 and in Ableton.

I haven’t tracked out since but as I was troubleshooting, I moved the sample outputs around (logically not physically) until the issue disappeared on its own. I tracked successfully and was unable to duplicate again.

There is another similar bug report by someone else regarding the metronome but I’m not sure it’s the same issue.

(BTW, how about that disk drive Brad.)
