Load sounds (or even a kit) while the sequencer is running

I’m getting more and more convinced the Isla S2400 is something I would like to add to my setup. I’m very impressed with the “hands on” spirit of the device and all the tracks made with the S2400 I’ve listened so far sound so fr**king good, so I want to experience this by myself  (DSP card FTW too!)

A quick question regarding loading sounds (samples), as I understand these are bound to tracks “globally” (for the project) and not assigned to a track for each pattern (as with a Digitakt): Can you load new samples or even complete kits when the sequencer is running and if so, how does it handle the “loading time”? Will the new sample(s) be played instantly or do you hear glitches or silence?

The reason I ask: I’d like to create a single liveset with multiple songs (which means different samples per track). If it would be possible to easily switch sounds while the sequencer is running this would be really awesome.

I know from experience you can load samples while a sequence is running. I do it all the time while looking for samples that will fit the sequence I’m working on. No idea about kits, which I’ve never used.

Indeed, and if you have steps programmed in to a sound you are trying to replace then it will play the new sound you’re browsing for with those steps

@DEFMAG @justin.affltd Excellent, thank you for answering!

Now I’m also curious about if it’s possible to load a whole kit while the sequencer runs, maybe someone else knows?
