Isla going out of business?

Whats this about?

Isla Instruments LLC has permanently ceased operations.

The online store is closed and no new orders can be placed.

Customer support resources and the user forum will remain available here for existing customers.

Future products designed by Brad Holland will be released separately and information will be announced elsewhere in due course.

That is correct.
Outstanding pre-orders will be taken care of by me, personally, once ready.
I will be sending a personal email to those immediately affected in the very near future.

To everyone else, until Brad Holland starts a new venture, Isla Instruments will continue to offer support.

So is there any ETA on when pre ordered Caladans may ship?

is this due to new business “isla electronics”, or do you have to shut everything down atm?

There will be when I have the last rev of the main board in my hands… as I know it’s then ready to put into mass production.
I (Brad) have not gone anywhere..

yes.

Brad, I’m sorry to learn this. I hope you’re well. Thank you for providing a really cool piece of gear that has become my go-to production tool. Does this mean the 250 incoming S2400 are the final run? I have a couple friends who have been kicking the tires. Wish you the best of luck on future projects.

Hey Brad, does support mean FW updates for the s2400? Thx

yes

Major bummer but I am still excited for the Caladan and my S2400 is the cornerstone of my setup. I look forward to whatever is coming next from you.

Brad… why refer to yourself in the 3rd person…? or are you not Brad?

So those of us who paid for Caladans will still receive them?
If so will there be any way for those that only ordered with the 4 cards to obtain cards to fill in the other half of the slots?
Can the firmware at least be open sourced?

Good on ya Brad. You have done great things for us and I hope the future sees more great things from you. Best sampler I’ve owned and only one I’ve kept (Yamaha su-700, emu sp1200, ensoniq mirage, Akai MPC 2000xl, make noise phonogene).
