GearTrader marketplace is OPEN for business!

GearTrader.net is LIVE! (And You Lot Get Special Treatment)

Alright, folks. After a couple of years of blood, sweat, and starting over and over again, GearTrader.net is officially open for business! :tada:

If you haven’t been paying attention (or if you’re just here to see what dumb thing I’m about to say), GearTrader is my new peer-to-peer marketplace for music tech gear.
During the pandemic, when I had no chips, and no prospects, I bought out an old music technology museums that had been closed for some 20odd years.
I didn’t want to give all my money to the ‘big marketplaces’ and thought I could do a reasonable job of pulling off my own marketplace.—no inflated fees, bumps and addons, no generic customer service bots, decent anti-fraud protection etc…

This thing was built with you (me) in mind. A proper place for synth nerds, drum machine heads, and general gear hoarders to buy and sell without getting rinsed.

A lot of plans for this in the future, building our some valuable additions like a kinda ‘uber’ for music tech repair, as finding a good one can be difficult.
Actual trading of gear (if we can work that out)

Special Perks for Isla Family

Because you lot have supported Isla from the beginning (and because I probably owe some of you a favor at this point), I’m giving all Isla customers a 10% discount on anything you want to buy that’s listed on the site. Just use the make an offer system and let me know you’re part of the Isla Fam in the message.

And for S2400 owners—since you already made an excellent life choice—you’ll get lower selling fees too.
Instead of the usual 2.5% commission, you’re only paying 1.5% when you sell your gear. Because let’s be honest, I’d rather your money go toward more samplers, synths, and snacks instead of some faceless corporate overlords.

Why GearTrader?

Because I got sick of the alternatives. The big platforms take too much, offer too little, and don’t actually care about the gear or the people buying and selling it. GearTrader is built for us, by us, with:

:white_check_mark: Lower fees for everyone

:white_check_mark: Sellers and buyers split the platform fee (because that’s fair, right?)

:white_check_mark: A focused community – No banjo strings, pink oboes, no skin flutes, just proper music tech

So yeah, it’s live, it’s working, and it’s waiting for you. Go list some gear, grab a bargain, and help me prove that we don’t need the usual middlemen to sell our stuff.

Cheers,

Brad

Congrats Brad and team!! You’re out here launching P2P marketplaces, game changing drum machines and truly unique synthesizers - meanwhile I can’t even finish putting away last week’s laundry. Look forward to snagging something soon!
