Is there a way to continuously play a sample but only make it audible when I hit a button? Essentially, I’d like to play a sample and rhythmically unmute it without restarting it every time.

No I don’t think so unfortunately. I think you best bet is to chop it up and try if you can achieve it that way.
I’ve been trying it that way along with using the faders. Was just curious if anyone found a clever way to do it.
Slight tangent: We can’t record fader automation, right?
If there were an LFO that would probably do the trick for you. As of now we have no LFO or fader automation.
