Feature Request #01[1]:
Aux (send) mode
What does it do?
- lets user set amount of signal of respective track to be routed to designated secondary output (like 7/8)
- preferably all variations of: stereo, and mono (i.e. Aux1, Aux2) from either stereo track (if necessary, convert to mono before routing) or mono track
- feedback via selectable line input 1/2 or 3/4 (like input monitoring)
- preferably set filter/sampling method for input, too (classic/hifi)
- result: easy to use simple outboard FX without mixing console, keep setup lean, clean, uncluttered
- like for:
- delay
- reverb
- phaser
- fuzz-box
- like for:
- that way
- all tracks could be sent through the same FX (stereo, or different settings for Aux1 and Aux2) with different relative amounts and also different amounts of different FX (like reverb and delay) on the same track/percussive element (like strong reverb on synth and snare, a bit on other percussive instruments but instead strong delay, none on base drum etc.)
- and it would open the possibility to programmable FX per midi event (like strong reverb on snare, only with some - but not all - hits).
How could it be implemented?
- dedicated Aux-mode to be switched on/off
- if on: 2 outputs have to be sacrificed for Aux output, preferably selectable (default: 7/8)
- double potentiometers for track to set send level for either L/R (or just level and L/R ratio taken from pan setting of track) or aux1 and aux2
- signal path:
- main signal of track unaltered (like output to 1/2, does not contain FX signal)
- Aux signal to selected output (like 7/8)
- (Aux send level set via potentiometers + relative to track level)
- from there into outboard FX box
- from there to input 1/2 or 3/4 (selectable)
- mixed into main mix like with input monitoring on
Personal line: That’s my first posting here (active for a while on Elektronauts, same username). I hope the structure of the feature request is ok for this forum and feedback to dev. I love the S2400 for its sound, esp. that classic sound in stereo - thanks a lot for developing this fantastic machine
