Dexed on S2400 DSP Card

So, just dreaming here (without requisite technical knowledge) but it seems like Dexed could be pretty doable to run on the S2400. There have been full aarch64 versions, there have been LV2 versions, it has been ported to run on tons of things including Teensy and Raspberry PI (The MicroDexed and MiniDexed forks, I believe). Is this completely asinine or within the realm of someone more tech-savvy than me? I am sure that there would be no hope of using the full GUI but I am fine with that - I am one of those horrible slobs who enjoys FM presets and playing them more than programming. Cheers all! Maybe @av500 or @bradholland could tell me why I am being silly.

You’re not being silly, in fact I think I had it running actually, or at least partially running and it was generating sound.

I’ll look at it again

in the meantime, you can go ahead and try it.

I will do some rough testing myself:
Here are some .lv2 versions. KXStudio : Repositories : Plugins and Dexed | Patchstorage

I will report my findings - glad to hear it might be possible, good lord that would be a dream.

and now your machine doesn’t work…??

It seems like it could be part of the cause, but I had several plugins when I did the sync files operation. Proceed with caution!

I gave this a shot a couple firmware’s ago and had it partially working, but you couldn’t edit many parameters. Even if it just loaded up presets it would be pretty cool!

Friend of mine let me borrow their DX7, I forget which sound card was loaded, but I sampled each preset and have a folder in my S2400. I wouldn’t mind packing it up and sending it to you. It’s just the middle C but I sorta like the drift that happens with the sample pitch.

Speaking of which, why don’t more of us offer this? I want someone to get some presets from the Moog Messenger, one of you has to have bought one or has access to one.

We should have an entire thread dedicated to this. I’ll start it in a bit, the only thing we’d need to verify is that assholes aren’t sending some virus shit, but I doubt anyone in this community would do that.

This one Dexed | Patchstorage works, but outputs in mono in the left channel only for some reason. It’s not really useable, only a few parameters are editable. Is the limit on visible parameters an artificial limit in the 2400? It’s not really that tedious to scroll through parameters, and lots of other plugins seem to hit the limit too. A solution would be to have the parameters in accordion folders.

I noticed all the presets are in a .ttl file in the lv2 folder too, seems like it shouldn’t be too hard to implement some sort of preset loader.

I ‘think’ the limit we display is 32 plugin parameters.. @Mickey ?

that rings true with the limited testing I did.
that’s why i didn’t add it to our ‘tested’ library at the time.

Yes, 32 is the max (to save memory).

Would that make a preset loader possible? Even limited parameters would be great but even with no parameters it would be marvelous! DX presets are so plentiful and most nerds like me have folders of them that we like

that could be doable, we’re just spread thing right now.
