Thanks so much for bearing with me the past couple of months. Truly, I really do appreciate you.
A lot has gone on and I’ll talk a little about that in an upcoming video update.
We are reasonably settled in a rental now up in the north of england, Isla has started at a new school and Aubrey in nursery.
I have a ‘room’ in the house and have setup my development station.
Since all my gear is in a container coming across the ocean, I’ve had to scour facebook marketplace and buy a bunch of used shit to get me started, monitors, midi keyboards etc..
I’ve been sliding back into my development work over the past couple of weeks and I have gotten a shedload done.. I am super super excited to show off where I have the caladan up to.
I ordered a little iPhone rostrum stand on amazon yesterday so I can do a top-down shoot of a nice walkthrough of where the machine is up to right now.

Full UI built out for DCO3 card, OPL3 Card.
UI Built out for multi-Part management
UI built out for patch browsing by both browse and tag/genre search.
UI partially built out for virtual instrument/plugin mapping to control panel.
HDMI Output dynamic UI generation
Working on:
audio mixer/plugin insert/send chaining (porting from S2400 DSP)
synth presets for the demo video.
I’m really happy with the way it’s shaping up, and I think I’ve come up with a pretty good control paradigm for our hybrid analogue/FM OPL3 card… I think you’re gonna love it, the card sounds SO good!
Wavetable card UI.. I should have the new wavetable card within the next few days.. whether the demo of it makes it into this video update or not is unclear yet, I hope so!
Overall the FW development is coming on really well, it’s really boosted my confidence and stress levels to see all my ideas finally gluing together into something that seems really fluid and easy to grasp how to use…
I’m pretty confident that I will have a sizeable, juicy video update this side of xmas.
I’ll premier it on youtube and maybe we can hang out in the livechat during and after for a bit..
After this video update, I’ll take a week or so for xmas with the fam, then a Caladan hiatus for a couple of weeks while I try to address some S2400 and DSP and Airwindows wants and concerns.
