[BUG] Loop/Slice - Looping cannot be turned off

It seems like Looping cannot be turned off, this has been regularly confusing me during recording as there was random samples playing, especially if I’m hitting the pad a lot for a hi-hat or something.

  1. Load any sample onto A1
  2. Go into waveform editor and trim down sample to around 1s
  3. Select Shift+B to enable Looping
  4. Hit Pad A1, it loops as it should
  5. Select Shift+B to disable looping
  6. Hit Pad A1, it doesn’t loop, as it should
  7. Hit Pad A1 again, it loops when it shouldn’t
  8. Exit Loop/Slice, A1 is now stuck like this

Current Workaround: Copy an empty pad to A1 and never touch loop unless you want it stuck on for the rest of time

Yeah I think this is part of an overall phenomenon where settings don’t register. Also had it happen to me with envelopes not switching from hifi to classic (or the other way around).

Someone told me here that it’s to do with loop settings baked in the wave, but no one could explain why it sometimes can’t be turned off.

Nevermind that I don’t need my S2400 to read baked in loop settings from my files.

This goes on the long list of flawed design decisions in the software. Isla seem too busy at the moment with other stuff. They probably really thought that the April update made the box bug free…

While I’m unfamiliar with loop settings being baked into a wave file, this bug occurs with a fresh wave file I created sampling into the machine on a brand new project, so not applicable here.

This doesn’t really affect my workflow as I know to avoid it now, which was my main reason for posting. I think there is always going to being some bugs with a product like this, and I don’t mind as long as they aren’t show stoppers. I understand the software must be hard to setup and maintain especially with all the new features added since launch.

I’ve had a lot of issues with being unable to deactivate looping once you enable it. My workaround is to set the loop time to 0 if I decide to describe looping on a track. This usually prevents unintended looping from popping back up.

I recreated this. However, If you turn off loop with Shift+B and come straight out of the waveform and Loop/slice and hit the pad, looping will indeed be off. I just tried it multiple times with multiple pads. But when you go back in to Loop/Slice waveform looping is back on again (even when switched off). So basically, as soon as you turn off loop, don’t touch anything until you have come out of Loop/Slice and you are back to the main area. It’s not a bug fix, but it’s a quicker workaround.

Me too. Annoying as FUCK lol. It seems to only happen with samples from certain packs in my experience.

I have the same issue, but found a quick fix. Go to the pad with the problem, turn Loop Mode on, set Loop Repetition to 0, then turn the loop off again. That usually clears it up for me.

Same here. Ive done this a few hundred times already.

Oh FFS yet another BUG found immediately as I sit down to use the ISLA.

How does this stuff get past QA and into a public release?

It would be great if there was a plan to address any of this.
